RE: How will current RV market affect RV shows?

With all the doom and gloom of today I really don't think there will be many if any RV shows. People just won't spend their money right now and neither will the manufactures. Besides, the banks still are not making new loans - that pretty much kills everything....(as stated by CNN today)

RE: How do you know?

It's a BIG waste of your money to let it sit for most of the year. To me that is the big determining factor. It's really that simple.

RE: support under the leveler feet

Really must be very careful on all wet ground. If you get a large amount of rain just about anything will go down in the mud -sometimes to the detrement of your jack. It may over extend itself. I carry both the plastic jack pads for hard surface and 2X8 wood sections 16" long for ground surfaces - heavy but has kept out of a lot of trouble.

RE: wiring a trailer brake controler to an 05' monaco diplomat

As far as I know your coach must first be wired for trailer brakes. That's what I had to do in my previous coach: 99 Monaco LaPalma. It did not come from the factory pre-wired and my local dealer had to first run wiring from the dash to the rear of the coach - then hook up the controller.

I am digital(and so are my TV's)

Since I am somewhat challenged in doing some of my own work I made the decision to have my dealer do my digital box install. With my coupons the total bill was only $110.00. For me it was money well spent as everything looks and works perfectly. I was really leary about the bedroom TV since I could see anyway to get to it? They cut a hole big enough to get your hand through on the bottom shelf and ran the connection up through there. The digital units also have the analog pass through. You do pick up quite a few more channels with the set up. So - I am a happy camper... ;)

RE: Ok, who is the oldest active RV'er here? Or maybe

I am 64 with a heart transplant - I try to do as much as I can but rely on my dealer and my mechanic to handle all the major things. I still wash and wax it and do general repairs....I live every day for what it is and am very grateful just to be here.

RE: Car dollies

I have the Master Tow dolly and am very pleased. Really not that hard to use or store. The reason I chose the dolly over the tow bar was the cost and the modifications I needed to the tow vehicle. I can also use for any other car if I need to. You can tow it empty if you lower the tire pressure down to 10lbs.I towed it new back from Pa to NW Ohio with no problems.

RE: Here comes Kyle, stay or go?

Well we live in Ohio and when the remnents of Ike came through the state it caused severe damage with 60 mph. winds. If it were me I'd opt for the safety first and leave till it passes. No need to be John Wayne.

RE: "quiet hours"/no generator use question for the experts here

If it were me I'd go for one of the CG's at the west entrance. We stayed there in July and the nights were in the 40's then. It does get cold up there pretty early.

RE: Brands to stay away from?

Monaco, Tiffin, Winnebago,Fleetwood. There is a questionaire on this forum about what people drive. Monaco, I believe was the number one diesel coach, all the other are very reputible.

Tom - Got it to work!!

Tom, Tried to post my picture (map) on my laptop and the good news is: it worked. Don't know if it's my laptop or your techs fixed the problem. Either way I thank you again for your help.

RE: using water pump & "city water" together

Okay call me stupid or I must have missed something. By turning the pump on aren't you just drawing water from the on board supply? I thought that hooking up to city water was a direct shot into the coach and didn't effect the tank at all. So how do you get more pressure without drawing from your on board water. Inquiring minds want to know.

RE: Preferences Page

Tom - this is like taking a car to the repair shop with a problem and then the problem doesn't exist. Don't know what to say except thank you for your troubles. Must be my machine.

RE: Preferences Page

Perhaps your picturre is too large ?? I had to reduce mine to finally work I know that's not the problem , but thanks for the input. I am only replacing my visited staes map. If your picture is too large you'll get a message saying it's too large. This is just a program glitch. Did a lot of de-bugging of programs before I retired.

RE: Preferences Page

Tom - just did another check and found that the portal works as long as you don't try to change anything - if you make a change you get the error message. Hope this helped. PS It only happens on the preference page when you try to add a picture. Made other changes on the page and it took those - like I said - it's only the picture portal that is messed up. Good luck
